Default Windows 7

I am content using Vista and Windows XP, but have seen all the laudatory articles about Windows 7. I wonder if it is worth paying for an upgrade to version 7?

I think we are going Mac this time.

Here is the latest back-story on Windows 7:

I'm happy with Vista on my PC and laptop.

I am pretty content using what we already have, too.

How much does the upgrade to Windows 7 cost?

After I have that info, I'll let you know whether I think it is worth paying for the upgrade.

I bought a Toshiba laptop with Vista about 3 weeks ago. With it, I received a free upgrade offer to Windows 7, which I should receive "within 60 days of Windows 7 release." I have been able to live with Vista, since I disabled most of its irritating features, but I'm looking forward to installing and using W7.

(Wow...where did all these new smilies come from? I like this one: and this one: )

No upgrade planned. XP works fine for me at home and the office.

Love the new smileys too.

I think of Val whenever I see this one:

If we make her laugh enough, she has said she spews her diet Coke, or coffee.

Val, you out there?

Here's one source. I've seen others a little cheaper.

I often spew and keep a little container of disinfectant nearby for my spew moments. I'm content with XP and will not upgrade until I get a new computer which may be quite some time coming. We use the desktop a lot, but its doing fine as far as I know and the laptop serves us well when we're traveling. I'm sure I'd enjoy a new laptop (the screen on mine pretty much sux) but it still works and I can do most of what I wish to do on it. I'm trying very hard to spend less time in front of the screen and more time doing physical activities that are much more healthy and rewarding, so computers are sort of off my spectrum for the time being. As long as I can read my email, do my online banking and check in here from time to time I'm happy.

Thanks for the link, Gene, but...

Probably no matter how much or even how little it costs, it wouldn't be worth it to me, as I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway.

I would, though, like to know how much it costs, to see whether it would be worth it for my +1, goblues2k, to get it or not.
