I went to the University of Hawaii for a semester and surfed the North Shore beaches in the winter. I had two good friends drown at Bazai Pipeline when I was there, one of whom was on track to be a professional baseball player. I almost died at the Pipeline. I got hit in the head by my surfboard and was knocked unconscious for a time.

 

That sounds bad. I would not do that again, if I were you.

Love this stuff. I also go out and look at my flagpole or see how the chickens are getting blown around.

 

I was especially interested in the wind speeds over oceans, after zooming in on my little neighborhood in Loveland. I saved the website so I can look at it again when the ferocious winds are blowing there again. I guess with nothing to slow it down it really rips out at sea.
