Winter is upon us
Knowing that many of us in the Northern states garage our S's during the winter months I got curious as to how often people drive their S2000's in the winter months? I occurred to me today that I have not driven ours in a over a month.
Shortly after FCT07 I washed it, got the brake dust off of the wheels from the track day and applied a liberal coating of "Wheel Wax" to the wheels and tucked her away under her cover in our garage.
Today was warm enough (in the 40's *F) to make me want to go for a top down ride but unfortunately, there is a ton of salt on the roads from the snow and sleet we had a few days ago and some of the roads are still wet.
P.S. I was away for almost two weeks during that time frame.

Last time was near the beginning of Nov. when It was out for a few hour ride and then filled up and garaged. Nearly took it out yesteday but decided against it after looking at all the salt/sand & melting snow on the roads. The temps here have been way below normal the past month, the ski centers are loving it....they are having their best early conditions in history. So much for global warming...currently 4 degrees here.

After FC, I washed her the next weekend, then the week after that took her to my dealer for the pre-winter fluid change. Since then, I only roller her out onto the driveway for a final cleaning.
She's been sleeping now over a month.

Parked her for good on 18 Nov this year, which is later than normal. but, then the weather was unusually goog this year. I go through a process each year. However, for the first time my insurance company required me to keep liability insurance during the storage months. Not happy about the latter. If we have anearly spring, I might just sneak her out underinsured.
Same for me. I washed and waxed it and put it away about a month ago. It won't be on the road again until some time in late March or early April, when all the salt has been washed away.
I'll put the charger on the battery for an hour or so once a month (today would be a good time) but won't start it until I'm ready to start driving it regularly.

These winter storage threads used to give me a smug chuckle. Driving around in a t-shirt with the top down in December or January is always more satisfying when others are asking whether to store their car with the wheels on or off. (OK, I'm a bastard. I admit it.)
But now the driving shoe is on the other foot. My S has spent the last 10 days trapped in my garage. The only road into my neighborhood is covered in mud, so my 4x4 has been earning its keep.

Mine is going out today. Temps are already at 71 deg. YAY. I'll be zipping out of here as soon as lunch is over. Can't wait. Its been almost a week since I drove it.
