Default "wiping" a disk.

I'm re-using a disk from another laptop and resurrecting my wife laptop for me. ( it is Easter after all )
Decided to execute a wipe on it yesterday. it's overwrite and erasing everything on the disk.
15 hours later I'm at 64%. what was I thinking?
Eventually it will get windows 10 on it.

I've enjoyed Win10, On the other hand, it's my work machine, and we have pretty strict compatibility rules. I've not tried to use it on a my own equipment.

Smart move doing the full wipe and write-over, though.

My company has issued Surface laptops for professional use. Did not go well and issued new Surface Pros. Did not go well. Going to iPads. Competitor uses iPads and out of 15 thousand issued, less than 100 have been returned for failure. Out of our 15 thousand issued just under 8 thousand have been returned for failure.

This experience has made me realize to never, ever, NEVER purchase a Microsoft product. Tiles go blank, constantly have to re-boot and re-start as apps will never open. Updates forced on you at the worst moments, freezes, etc, etc. Horrible piece of garbage. This is all with a machine that has never (not once) surfed the web (only to company websites for critical data) and never used for email. No personal apps or used non-professionally. Terrible.

That's some story. Once you go Mac, you'll never go back! Of course the includes iPads, etc. I had a couple friends telling me that for 10 years before I switched at home (for the same reason as many others - Microsoft was all we knew at work). OMG, you could not pay me to go back to Windows.

I have tried to use MS Windows and I have soooo much trouble. It is nowhere as intuitive as using a Mac (and I use to trash Apple whenever I could until I tried one). I go nuts when I have to use anything Windows.
