There's nothing like a good night's sleep and a cool morning to soothe and calm.

I'm going to stick around until I find something I like better. But it will never be the same there. That's a damn shame.

Thanks everyone.
You need to start looking right away. The sooner you make your move the better off you'll be. Once you lose faith in the company you are at, things only go downhill and you will very quickly become unhappy. It's very hard to work knowing you want to leave.

Good decision, IMO.

Cool mornings are a perfect time for dusting off the ol' resume. Good Luck!

I got to this late but you did exactly what I was going to tell (suggest) you to do, sleep (and pray) on it and see how you felt in the morning. Everyone touched on all the other points as well. I'm curious about how Barb feels about it all, especially after sleeping on it as well.

Now that you've calmed down and made your decision, the right one for now, I think, you know I had to chuckle sitting here in my claustrophobic, windowless, noisy, dreary looking closet thinking I would kill for a cubicle.

Seriously, though, can the rest of Barb's job be done from home? Or is this a moot point by now? The workplace ain't what it used to be and loyalty is a dying, if not dead, commodity. Have you checked out what Ford is doing today? Sad indeed. Hang tough, buddy and don't let them make you act a fool.

[QUOTE=grannyrod,Sep 15 2006, 10:00 AM] Now that you've calmed down and made your decision, the right one for now, I think, you know I had to chuckle sitting here in my claustrophobic, windowless, noisy, dreary looking closet thinking I would kill for a cubicle.

Mike, I can certainly empathize with the thoughts you have shared, and the advice rendered above is certainly sound. I have to remind myself each day to keep a level head and to analyze my options while keeping things going such that my conscience is clean. If your gut-feeling is telling you something, trust your experience and listen to what it says ... but at the same time, keep that balanced perspective until you are prepared to resolve this on your terms and in a way that you're confident will not disappoint you later.

After all, you have to live with you when all is said and done ... the company, on the other hand, does not.
Amen!
