Most holiday resorts we have visited over the years would have someone complaining about bed bugs on Trip Advisor, we never experienced it at any place we have visited but it seems like some people do in certain rooms of the resorts. We have been lucky thus far.

Contrary to popular belief, bed bugs are visible to the naked eye, but are excellent at hiding.

Bed bugs are about 3/16 of an inch long and are red to dark brown in color. They are typically nocturnal and come out of hiding to eat blood from sleeping humans. Blood is their only food source.

Bed bugs typically travel by clinging onto items such as luggage, purses and other personal belongings. And they don’t need to eat often. They can actually survive for several months without blood.

remember when back in the days of DDT, when an apartment rental ended they would go in and spray.
that really knocked down the overall presence of bed bugs. oh well.

I don't think DDT was a carcinogen, it just killed all of the birds by making their shells to brittle.
although I could be wrong.
