Default 2 Details with Pics

Late winter, I asked for opinions on a different wax for my cars. I was using P21S, and while I was happy with the ease of application I was looking for more pop in the shine department. I now have all light colored cars, and was looking for something that would provide some definition to the metalics in the paint, and some additional depth of color to the light tints of the paint. I know, pretty impossible. I also promised our esteemed leader Wannabe, that I would post up my results when I decided what to use. This is a bit overdue, unfortunately due to some family health issues. But better late than never.

So on to the details. The first is my wife's DD, Acura MDX. Yesterday, I posted a question about an issue in the paint, and appreciate those who replied.

As you can see it wasn't in the best of shape to start out

And here are the paint "rust dots" referred to earlier

My process on the car was

Wash Meguiars Gold Class
Clay Wolfgang
Polish Menzerna IP with Edge Green Pad, followed with Menzerna PO85RD with blue pad
Synthetic 2 coats of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
Wax 1 coat of Pinnacle Signature 2, followed with 1 coat of Pinnacle Souvern Liquid
Wheel wells cleaned with Meguiars APC
Wheel wells and tires dressed with Mequiars Hyper dressing

I'm not great yet with the camera, and was having trouble getting it to focus on the white, here's the best reflections I could get

And here's my S, shown in the reflections on the side of the MDX. The process was similar, however, no need to use the Menzerna IP, just the PO85. Additionally, I used Meguiars hot tire shine spray on the tires. Also, I initially used 2 coats of Signature wax, and every time I wash it I go over it with Souvern liquid wax.

It's very hard for me to capture the depth of color, especially on the S. However I really feel this wax combo has been an upgrade from the P21S. The bonus is that it seems to last longer also.

Unfortunatly, it now seems that I am not only layering wax over synthetics, but also layering waxes

The next thing will be to try something even maybe better, like Lusso, or Swissvax

thanks for the positve comments

I think there might be some transfer processing issues also. The pictures look much better on my hard drive. I was in a bit of a hurry moving them around last night.

Then again, it could be my lousy picture taking. The camera is new to us and I haven't taken the necessary time to learn it well enough

I use the same products, Wolfgang and Pinnacle and I think it shines and pops well. I love the look and get plenty of compliments all the time.

looking good and i have to agree with wanabe on lighting. they most def look shiny, but it's hard to capture the depth and reflections because of the lighting, so maybe try it again on a more sunny day?

keep up the good work and thanx for the info on products!

how many miles on the 04/05 s? that girl is looking in tip-top shape!

on this account, I'm busted. Only 6600 miles. But I have a partial excuse. I accuired the car about 14 months ago, and it only had 1050 miles. Owned prior by Honda of America, and nearest I can track, was used for auto shows. The original sticker that I have, doesn't even have a price on it. It just says VSC, I think.

I will admit however, I have only rarely driven it in the rain. At least the top is always down, even if I have to turn the heater on

Wolfgang Sealant Rocks. Sure you many find a sealant that lasts a little longer but I don't think you'll find one that makes your paint look as wet or feel as slick as Wolfgang. It's also easy to apply and easy to remove.

Your vehicles look great.

I got them from Jeff at Hardtopguy. I love the look of the CR rims with the dark rim.
