Default 303 on Conv. Top

Time to give the conv. top a thorough cleaning. I have heard that the top is indeed vinyl and that 303 Aerospace is the best thing for it. My question is: Should it be used for both heavy cleaning and protecting? I have always believed in 2 or 3 step cleaning (wash, wax, polish, etc) rather than all-in-one products. Should I dive into this product? Just wanna do the best thing for the top cause it just came cross-country (2 buggies on it!!!)

If you do a search you should be able to find numerous threads about the material used in the convertible top. According to a diagram that's been posted (I believe from the Helm manual, but I'm not 100% sure), the top is vinyl, not cloth/fabric. It's "embossed" to look like fabric.

I just used 303 on my top this past weekend (it wasn't really dirty, I just wanted to put something on it to protect it from the TX sun) & it did a pretty good job if you ask me. Nothing spectacular to report, but a good job. When I wash it next time, I'll see if it causes water to bead on it (I believe I read that it should do that).

My $0.02

Check out -

RAGGTOPP Convertible Top Cleaner and Protectant -

in group buys. I have used 303 and I am quite satisfied, but this stuff - from all reports - is supposed to be even better. I put my order in a couple of days ago.

I have been using Ragtop protectant since last year. Water has never stopped beading up on it. I did two light applications when I first got it (easy) and recently just sprayed some more on but I'm not sure it needed it. I'm very impressed with this stuff.

I'll give the RAGTOPP (Spelled right??) a try. Any suggestions for the inside of the top? I think it's cloth LOL.

Great, got on the 10% off. Should this RAGGTOPP stuff be used on the inside of the conv top?
