No correction needed. You are 100% correct. The OEM top is vinyl.
it is confusing... especially since honda calls it "top cloth"!!
dont know why they dont call it top material or top vinyl-
303 is a good product for our tops- so is vinylex or raggtopp for vinyl tops (raggtop also makes a protectant for cloth tops- be happy that you dont have to use that stuff!! you have to mask the entire car other than the top cause its an aerosol).

you want to make sure not to get it on the paint-
soak an applicator or rag away from the car. rub it in to the top well- keep the rag wet.
let it sit for awhile- i do the rest of the car at this point. then buff off the top with a clean dry rag. i often follow that by another dry rag just to make sure i got off all excess in case of rain (to keep rain from washing it onto the paint). after your first buff you can inspect and can tell whether you need a second buff or not- you usually will not- its only when i really soak the top that i need two.

I know this only because a coworker picked up a ZR and asked me advice about the top. Naturally, I told him he needed to find out what kind of material it is. He was convinced it was cloth despite looking all over the Internet, checking with the dealership, and contacting other resources which never gave a straight answer. I think we determined it was vinyl coated cloth as ours is when we finally got our cars side-by-side. The ZR material seems very similar to the S2000 material (and very different from known cloth tops).
He's used RaggTopp for vinyl with success.

Summary, in case my post is confusing.
S2000 OEM top material - Use vinyl cleaning/protecting products.
350ZR OEM top material - Don't know for certain, but I'm convinced it's similar to the S2000 and that vinyl products should be used.

Actually, all OEM S2000 tops are vinyl coated cloth
