Was it new from the dealer with mirror spots? I've also got spots on my mirrors (see the below thread). I'm going to try a little fine steel wool and see what happens. The right hand mirror has some stenciling/etching on it, so one would need to be careful there.

My mirrors appear to have very regular spotting from top to botton and from side to side, and left side and right side are identically spotted. I did some testing on them today with the 0000 steel wool and the mirrors appear to be glass. I did a quick pass on my windshield with the 0000 wool and will check tonight to see if it is aggeressive to remove any of the film.

Try Denatured Alcohol?

Finger Nail polish remover?

Are you sure it's on the outside? and not the inside?

Autoglym glass polish maybe? I've never used it before but it seems like the only thing that would work at this point.

Maybe jewelers rouge. If the glass is not etched, it will eventually come clean if you keep working at it..

if traditional paint polishes with a PC or rotary won't work then your glass is FUBAR

My first pass with the 0000 steel wool did some good on the wind shield in removing some of the material and reducing the night time glare from bright lights, but the spots/sap/whatever is still evident when observed closely. I origionally did a test spot on the edge of the wind shield with an SOS pad, which appears to have removed a significant amount of the material with out issues. I'm going to try the 0000 some more times backed by a wood block before moving up to larger wool or the SOS pads to be on the safe side. Close observation of a fresh razor blade at work shows that the spots are some type of material that is on the glass.

I just noticed that NH_s2k_Guy also has a 2005 s2000, and appearanly lives in NH. My Honda dealer bought a large lot of unsold 2005 hondas (including my s2k) from a honda outfit in the NH/RI regon in Feb 2006 (the honda outfit's name i think starts with a "G"). I think my s2k had the spot issue when it was brought down from New England. Might be some type of connection.
