Default Absorber questions

I just bought and used the absorber for the forst time. I think it's great at how fast I can dry the car with it.

When I use the absorber, it sounds like a piece of rubber going across the car. I read the packaging and it says it doesn't strip the wax off, but the rubber sound that it makes, makes me wonder if it really is stripping the wax off or not. Do other people that use the absorber get this sound too??

Also, what is the best technique to use when trying to get the water off the car using the absorber. I was initially bunching the absorber up and wiping the water off. I tried laying it completely out onto the car and dragging the entire surface of the absorber across the car.

I don't exactly know what the absorber is, but I bought a thing called a Wundertowel. It's a German made absorber like a chamois, only better. On flat surfaces of the car, I spread it across and pull it towards me, wring it out and absorb the small droplets. I get the squeeky sound as well. However, the next times I wash the car, the water still beads up from the waxing. I don't think you should worry about it.

I lay mine across the surface, and drag it gently. Seems to do the best job of collecting water.

I use the following microfiber towel to dry my car:

They are very soft, hold a lot of water and can be easily squeezed to release the moisture. And they are also machine washable which keeps them clean for the next use.

Sorry, never used the Absorber.

What kster uses is what I was talking about. It is so much better than a terry towel or a chamois. Proper auto care is where I bought mine. I've used it about 5 times and still looks like new.

If you like the microfiber towel, then you will be amazed at this: http://properautocare.com/bigbludryint.html

I fold it over on itself until it is slightly larger than my hand. Then I squeegie from top to bottom. I may flip it over to use the opposite side of the folded Absorber. When it starts leaving visible droplets, I wring it out.

I like keeping a microfiber towel in the other hand to catch any droplets and to finish the windows.

Try folding or dragging as mentioned but don't apply so much pressure that you hear the sound described. I love mine. I've done the 100% cotton towel purchase, several pre and post washes, etc and find this a more efficient scratch free alternative.

BTW-I always ask that the car NOT be washed at the dealer when having service done. Ever go out to the wash bay and see the materials they use???? I checked this out of curiosity and found dirty towels (and sponges) of various quality with rigorous rubbing by the washers. Just leave it dirty please.
