Advice Please.....
My neighbor was painting his home and didnt have the common sense 2 at least ask me 2 put my car in the garage or cover it with tarp...........2 make this long story.... short.
I 've got white overspray all over my s2, including the ragtop...I've alreday tried 2 wash & wax the car with no luck.... his insurance was contacted and is willing 2 settle the claim....
My question 2 everyone is ....can my s2 be repaired by a professional,or is a new paint job in my future? Also is it ok 2 say the ragtop must be replace?
I'm grateful for any words of wisdom or advice ..
thanx

I had a very similar situation about a month ago where I parked my car at a resort. Well, the resort decided to paint their balconies and I got white overspray ALL over my car. I asked, and was told to clay the car with a clay bar. I got a quote from a body shop ($450 to remove the overspray), used the money to buy the clay, polish and stuff, and did the work myself.
After this, the car looked MUCH better than when I first bought it, shines like a showroom car now!! It took a few hours of elbow grease to get the overspray off, but it came off with the clay bar, not a single spot left on the car. I'm still trying to figure out how to remove it from the seals and stuff without dulling the seal rubber... but I was amazed with how well the clay worked. Definately don't need to worry about a new paint job, I was worried about the same thing.
I don't know about the top though, I never bothered to remove it from the top since it was not nearly as noticable as the paint and I figure I'll be replacing it within a few years anyway...
Good luck!!
(BTW, thanks for the info from this forum!)

good advice azs2000- exactly what clay was first used for (by body shops to remove paint overspray)-
clay is the solution for the paint, and its not hard to do!!
the top isnt quite as easy- depends on what type of paint. if its an oil based paint (not likely), will be tough to remove from our tops.
if its water based, a good vinyl cleaner should get it- i like vinylex, but 303 should work too.
try out these tips and let us know how it goes-
worst case is his insurance co will handle it, but i think you should be able to fix it as good as new.
