Am I getting something wrong?
It's ten year old paint, so I don't expect miracles, but I hit my new S with a full going over last week-
Hosed then washed with Megs shampoo.
Dried then Megs clay bar.
Megs Tech Wax over that.
Megs Carnuba Wax to finish.
What can I say, I like the smell
The paintwork actually felt terriffic - exactly as I have come to expect from the above routine. Mirror smooth with an almost 'soft' feel.
However, within 30 miles of driving (nowhere too dusty..!), the whole car feels like it's been coated in sand!
Am I getting something wrong, or missing a step somewhere? It's almost as if the particles are getting trapped in the layer of wax?
I really don't want to be going back and doing the whole lot twice a week to keep it looking glossy!
Does anyone have any tips?
Just to add, I don't use machine polisher, I use sponge applicators and microfibre cloths to buff (not sure if that makes any difference!).
Thanks in advance!!

are you driving near a railroad or factory? those are the "usual" causes of grit on a car...
a quick detailer might get it if you can hit it before it embeds. if it really is rail dust or factory fall out, it embeds fairly quickly.
once it embeds, clay (again) is the only solution...

At my house, if the car is out on our long driveway for more than 5 minutes, it is covered in tree sap; and the stuff is a pain to remove; usually have to use QD with moderate pressure, which i hate doing for fear of adding more swirls.
Rural area and I have a long gravel driveway to the house so it's generally pretty dusty.
Was more wondering if there was an additional step I could do to take away the 'softness' of the carnuba..I guess like a harder sealing wax or something that would be a bit more resistant to the embedding.
Ah well...just have to stick to regular cleaning I guess!!! Thanks anyway chaps!
