Default Am I layering correctly?

Hey everyone! I am going to fully detail the S this weekend and needed some advice on the process I am going to use. When I first got the car, I used EagleOne Nano wax, followed up with a coat of Meguires Gold Class, and got pretty good results with good durability. THIS time I want to try something different, so here is the process I was thinking off:

1. Wash car with Meguires Gold Class car wash
2. Clay the car with Meguires clay bar
3. Apply Meguires swirl remover to areas that need it
4. Apply Meguires Show Car Glaze #7
5. Apply Meguires Gold Class Polish/Wax
6. Apply Meguires High Tech Yellow #26 wax (possibly 2 coats if I feel up to it)
7. Drink about 4-6 beers and watch it shine (Send Blue Moon and a few oranges please!)

Does this process seem good? I noticed on the Show Car Glaze directions it said to NOT let it dry on the car. I was planning on using my little buffer to apply it, and my MF towels to remove it. Should I just do it by hand instead or not worry about it drying?

Thanks
Cris P.

Item #5 sounds like it would remove the show car glaze that you put on before it... is the gold class stuff a type of cleaner wax? If I were you, I'd skip #5 completely and go straight to the High Tech Yellow wax

Well the Gold Class wax was part of my birthday stuff from the girlfriend, so I feel somewhat obligated to use it. Guess I could use it on the wheels or windows..hehe.

The Gold Class is Meguires Gold Class liquid wax. After reading the box, it says it removes fine swirls, so I'm thinking it has some aggregates (sp) in it.

No, your order is incorrect. The Gold Class wax should be the LAST coat. Also, you should not be using the yellow wax on a sebring. Not that its harmful, its not made for silver. Meguiars yellow wax is made for cars that are red, dark blue, and dark green....basically any darker colors, and red.

Skip the yellow wax, and just top off the glaze with the gold class wax.

Ohhhhhhh ok. So just glaze, then gold class for how many coats I want to do and then I'm good?

And thanks for the info..I didn't know that!!

Is it OK to let the glaze dry and set in, or should I apply it, then immediately take it off?

Thanks,
Cris P.

Let the glaze set, about 5-10 minutes, then buff off. Then apply the gold class wax, let that set, then buff. That should be plenty.

Thanks for your help!! I'll keep that in mind for the#26 wax, I never knew it was mainly for darker cars.

Do you have any suggestions for over the counter stuff that will make my sebring really pop? I know lighter colors are hard to get a deep deep shine off of.

What you are using IMHO is the best over the counter you can get. If you arent happy with the shine gold class gives you, nothing will. The only thing I may suggest is that the shine will be a little richer if you invest in a porter cable, and apply the wax with the machine. One more thing, instead of the meguiars glaze, use Liquid glass. Its also over the counter, a little on the pricy side ($25 a can), but it is great. That, with gold class over it will look REALLY nice......if applied right.

thought i was one of the only ones wacko enough to use the pc to apply wax here!

glad to see that i have good company... i like the machine cause it puts down a very even coat-
i also like to use it to remove (i use a lambswool bonnet with an mf cover)- and then do a final "hand-touch-up".
