Default Another Headlight Resto

here is another headlight restoration I did. This job was finished the 3m ventureshield clear mask. Offered with a 3 year warranty against oxidation.

This is a 2004 S2000, the headlights were restored by a dealership using the popular 3m headlight restore kit. The headlights once again oxidized within about 6 months and came back even worse. Light output was reduced and the hids looked halogen.

Here is a before.

This is after sanding.

This is after buffing

This is the clear coat and the clear mask being applied (This job got 3m Ventureshield as the clear mask)

After

And now we get that lovely color above the cutoff back at night

enjoy

Great work!!

Where did you buy the 3m Ventureshield covers?
My s2000 is starting to need some headlight care however I have found with my other cars, once you polish them once, you must complete the process quite often. I am hoping the ventureshiled one avoid this.

The headlights I did myself with the clear mask. I do tint and clear mask for my business and i use a variety of different films. The reason why after you polished the oxidation came back was because you the uv coat was still compromised. You need to put a clear coat or clear mask to prevent it.

I used a dewalt rotary buffer. I use a 3 inch adapter plate with 3 inch buffing pads. Start with wool and finish with a convoluted foam pad. I use farecla finishing compounds and polishes. If you don't have access to farecla you can just use meguiars solocut compound and 3m ultrafina polish.

We do delivery. If you have them off the vehicle you can ship them to me and I would restore them and ship them back.
