During the warmer months I almost always have the top down on MY02. I'm pretty good about using the boot but since that thing is such a pain in the a$$ to take on and off I've been washing my car with the top down alot. It's very easy to do as long as you keep the water pressure low and don't go to crazy with the mit. People look at me like I'm nuts as they drive by and see me washing my topless car. Please tell I'm not alone here,other S owners do the same.....right?

 

I do it all the time. I also put (roll) up the windows while washing.

 

90% of the time I wash my car with the top down/windows up.

 

Never tried it. Putting the top up only takes 6 seconds and with it up, I can quickly rinse with no worry.

Still, the idea is provocative, kinda like seeing if I can get away with something wrong.

my top is always down, boot on- except when i am washing it and then i bother taking the boot off and put the top up. dont wash the top, but have it up to keep water out of the car.
guess i gotta try it sometime!

 

I wash with the top and windows down all the time. Once my daughter starts helping me wash the car I'm sure the top will go up.

 

I washed my car with the top town the other day! My neighbors looked at me like I was stupid but thats OK.
