Ill also add my before and after of my jeep steering wheel. i did this on my S as well and it came out great.

I usually buy my cars used, and they usually have a shiny steering wheel from the POs oils and lack of care. The steering wheels feel and look like hard plastic and dont have much grip.

I read about using the Mr Clean magic eraser and gave it a try. ive been using this technique since.

Dunno if it been covered so Ill do a little write up:

Make sure the magic eraser is clean and damp. not soaking, but certainly not dry! dry will cause some damage.

Go around your steering wheel 1/4 section at a time and be sure to get the stitching and the back side. keep the eraser damp and clean at all times

work the eraser gently. do not scrub hard, and pat the wheel dry with a micro fiber towel as you finish with the eraser.

when you are done you can go over the wheel with a little bit of quality leather conditioner. do not use something that will make the wheel slippery and hard to grip. what ever you use, make sure you rub it in well and that the wheel isnt damp or slippery before you drive.

here are some before and afters of the jeep:

here are some progress shots during the cleaning:

Glad to see another S2ker coming from a Jeep And coming from cleaning the jeep, i have learned how to get that hard to get mud off the dash and inside the engine, so you and me def. know what dirty is, I laugh when people say please excuse the dirty pics, cause they have no clue what dirty is until after coming home from mudding and having to spend hours just rinsing off the jeep to get the mud off

having the jeep was fun, but having 2 impractical cars was too impractical. we traded the jeep for a suburban recently.

heres a pic of the S and the jeep:

agreed, however as a 19 year old, i couldn't really afford having two cars making minimum and going to college, so i had to pick either to sell the jeep for the S or keep the Jeep, decided to go with the S, now I wish I had the Jeep, oh well, still love my S

BTW Mequiers Gold Class is a better wash then the Mothers, and if you use the Simple Green on bare or anodized aluminum (engine compartment) make sure you rinse it really really well or it will etch it.
