So I joined the club
I used to own an integra and was really into detailing it, but the paint was so shot and it was infected with the infamous Honda rust that I never was content.
I recently acquired my '06 berlina s2k and with a fresh unrusted canvas to work with I figured I would give detailing another shot. The paint was pretty well covered in swirls and had a lot of halograming.
I bought the PC kit from DD which came with the Menzerna polishes and Glanz wax along with all the pads/backing plates/mf's. (great service)
Procedure:
-Wash with dawn
-Clay
-Regular wash
-SIP/Green pad
-FP/black pad
-Glanz wax/blue pad
For my first time with the PC I think I did alright, but I made the mistake of trying to do it all in one day. I finished at 12am on a Sunday and I guarantee my last hour or two of work was not my best....a combination of beer and exhaustion
I was happy with the results, most of the bad swirling is gone with a few other random scratches remain.
I have a car show in a few weeks that is held at work....nothing big but I'm thinking of going through the motions again to try to rid the paint of the remaining defects. By looking at the pictures, can anyone offer any suggestions? I've read about different pads, but I'm trying to avoid marring the black and having to spend extra time to remove that. I

Steve,
Looks really good.
It looks like a dirt/gravel driveway - - - what do you do to keep it clean day-to-day? I assume something like a california duster or a quick detailer would introduce swirls.
Michael
Yes the driveway really sucks...but theres nothing I can really do about it. On average i wash the car once or twice a week depending on weather. Very rarely if I'm in a hurry I will use a QD and wipe it down, but yeah Im sure you're right about that making swirls.
