and yes, dental floss and an adhesive enemy are the products of choice. a good adhesive enemy would be something like wd-40 or a citrus based anti adhesive.
and then you have to remove the clips... i just dental flossed mine until they were loose enough so that i could break off the clips. you will have holes where the badges used to be so you either have to fill the holes or cover them with different badges. mine are covered with ricks badges.
if you will be replacing the badges, let me give you a strong hint:
use some masking tape to tape off where the old badges were so that you can fit the new badges easily... without the tape you could end up having to move the new badges several times to get them in the right place (experience talking here!)
