The yellow makes it very hard to see the scuffs. Still have not found a good lighting system for yellow and white. I did find that black is easy to see the flaws in sunlight or with flourescent lighting. I did my co-driver's black MR2 before we went to Topeka.
The tires have been scrubbed with Mean Green and the tire dressing is Formula V (8 or 9 coats of the Formula V).
The polish job started with your basic Dawn wash, wipe with Ford Clearcoat Polish, Clay-Magic Bar, Ford Polish again and another soap wash. I used a Clay-Magic bar this time. I like it better than the Mother's Clay Bar that I had been using. I think the Clay-Magic is softer and easier to fold over and form than the Mother's. Part was done with detailing spray for lube and part was done with car wash soap. I don't see that it makes any difference. I use that Ford Clearcoat Polish as a cleaner - like a bug and tar remover. It's cheap and even cheaper for me as a Ford retiree. It contains Petrroleum Distilates and Kaolin. Kaolin is a very fine abrasive, the same abrasive that you find in toothpaste.
The paint was polished with an old Craftsman 9" random orbital buffer and 3M Perfect-It II. Perfect-It II is a fine grit crystaline Quartz silica. They claim it is fine enough to remove scratches left by 1200 grit sandpaper. The body shop supply house that sold it to me pointed me at that rather than the 3M Finesse-It. They said that Perfect-It is suitable for either hand or machine polishing and Finesse-It is for machine use. I do some power and some hand polishing.
I used Zaino Z-1 and Z-2 to protect the paint. I did not buy the ZFX because I never know how much I am going to do, so I wouldn'r know how much to mix. With the Z-1 I can apply it, go check E-mail and a couple of forums, and then come back and apply the Z-2. If the Z-2 sits overnight and I buff it off in the morning, that's OK.
I also have some Z-5 scratch and swirl remover, but I have not used that yet. I think it is a filler and I wanted to get the majority of the scratches out of the paint before I start using the Z-5. I did use it on the MR2 and it seemed to work fine.
Glass has been cleaned with Zaino Z-12 Glass Polish. That stuff is great. It will easily remove the film left by Rain-X. I use Z-2 instead of Rain-X. It lasts about a year, doesn't get cloudy like Rain-X, but takes 45 - 50 MPH for the water to bead up and blow off where the Rain-x only needs 38 - 40 MPH.
The rose colored wheels are BBS aftermarket wheels that are just visiting here this week. Our vendors that come out to our sporty car events were both out of Formula V last week and I still had a gallon left, so I have been treating those tires for some friends. They actually belong on a silver Subaru STI. They were painted to match the emblems on the STI. I have three sets of OEM wheels that I use on the Honda.

Those look like the BBS wheels off of a WRX STi. How they got pink I have no idea.
Do you have any close up before/after pictures of the trouble spots on your car? Nice color btw.

I doubt that I can get any decent pictures of the scratches. I have a hard time seeing them with this yellow.
