Bird poop.
my girlfriend live in the "wonderful" city of chicago and after every visit i come out to my car being completely covered (average of 6 hits) in bird crap. i have been going home and washing the car but this is getting rediculous esp with this mid april snow we have had. can i get away with just carrying a couple MF towel and some QD in the car and taking care of the issue on the spot? if so what would be a good QD for this? (if there is one i can pick up locally i would prefer this but if there is a better product available online i will go that route as well)
thanks in advance guys. i tried searching but at work my server blocks it

bird poo is one of the most dangerous things your paint can endure for two reasons:
1. it is very acidic- so it has the ability to etch (crater) your paint if it sits very long
2. birds eat sand, so it can contain grit
with the above in mind, the best (but not very practical) answer to bird poo is getting it home and washing it - rinse the area with some pressure to try to remove it without rubbing.
since that is impractical, i always carry a detailers spray (any will do) and mf towels. whenever i get hit, i soak the area with the spray- then very gently remove it. if i see any signs of sand i will then detemine whether i can get it home to rinse- if not soak again and blot it off carefully. if no sand, then you can just wipe it off (gently).
