Bought a new car.
Hi guys.
I am taking delivery of a 2012 Civic Si sedan tomorrow. I have never owned a brand new car, I have only been able to buy used vehicles up to this point. I feel I have learned a few things about detailing a used car for the long term, but a new car? Not so much.
My question is, what steps should I take initially to ensure the paint and interior don't show signs of aging anytime soon?
Windows are being tinted before I take possession of the car, and I will be doing a clear bra at some point in the fall. But what about waxing the paint? Or using Scotch Guard on the seats?
Any other steps I should take to help protect the car from the elements that come with living in the midwest climate? The car will be ungaraged - my S2000 and my wife's TSX claim the two garage spots we have.
Thanks in advance for your input.

If I were getting a new car i would polish it and protected with opti-coat 2.0. if you don't want to go that route, i'd get some protection on all surfaces. Wax or Syntethic on the paint, 303 on the vinyl or rubber, Aquapel on the glass, leather conditioner on the seats.
There's really not any difference aside from (hopefully) not having to worry about the issues that tend to crop up on older cars. It's still a matter of using whatever solutions you prefer. Whether new or used there's no one-size-fits-all list of wash & wax products.
