Default Bubbled or Rippled paint surface.

Beggining on the side skirts under the door, the paint becomes rippled/bubbled (orange peel like surface). I know this can be an issue with the actual application with the paint, or possibly the effects of heat damage. Has anyone seen or experienced this with their s2000. Hoping it would be covered by warranty as a manufacturer defect. Its the same on both sides of the car. Progressively worse towards the bottom.

If its on the bottom of the car, thats normal.

Post a pic of the area and we'll be able to tell you if its normal or not.

The bottom edge of the side skirts is textured on purpose. I'm not sure what the purpose is but it's done at the factory. It's kind of like unbelievably bad orange peel. If you look at the top edge of the texture though you can see it's a straight line. So, it was intentionally put there.

There are many cars that have this feature. The old 300ZX had this and I've seen Audis with it.

hahahaha.

yeah, its like that on purpose man. I think Honda did it because that section of the car would probally get a lot of rocks and stuff thrown at it, so because its all bumpy like that, it help hide any damage to that area.

True... i bent over and looked at the new models in the dealer and was relieved to find them all the same way. I feel better about all this stuff once i get several layers of good wax on her.

It's on most cars, used to deflect rocks when they hit the paint. If you ever look at Nerf bars or running board bars, they are the same way on trucks, to help deflect the rocks.

Completely normal
