Default Buffer Questions?

I have a craftsman random orbital buffer. It's ok, and I have had it for a while but I am looking for something else.

I am looking for a smaller surface, i.e. i think mine is 9" so maybe 6"?
Also a better handle/ease of use?

What are people using? Where to buy? I am not looking to spend too much.

Thanks in advance

Not anymore, but you may luck out and find one still hanging around the clearance table.

Best orbital I've ever owned. The pads velcro to the orbital and are very easy to switch and clean. The orbital has a speed control on it as well.

Just out of curiousity what other orbitals have you owned? I'm wondering what you are comparing it to.

Whoa! Griot's Garage used to sell a PC at what I thought was an inflated price. Now they sell their own branded ROB with more power than a PC, more convenient handle, and a cooling fan to the pad. I don't know who makes it, but its construction has "Makita" written all over it. It sells for $129 ready to go with a hook and loop 6" pad attachment. I've got one ot these, and it is outstanding.

There have been several threads on Autopia about "who makes the new Griot's R/O?" The general conclusion is usually that it's a Chinese company.

Also, many people who have tried both (I haven't) prefer the PC. Also, the PC is more versatile as many attachments & brands of pads fit it. Whereas the Griot's machine can only use 6" velcro backed pads.
