Arrow Busted W/TINT

As I was waiting to get on the HWY is see a motorcycle cop on the corner looking over at me... maybe because I had just washed & waxed my car I rolled my windows down as I always do because in CA you can not have your front windows tinted I get on the HWY and next thing you know he's pulling me over. Shyt! I know tinting the front windows is a no no. Cops are really strict when it comes to that, especially in Northern CA. Then he walks around and notices I have no front license plate and got me for that too. So he issues me a fix it ticket for both.

I got my windows tinted in So Cal for dirt cheap so I'm not tripping... but I really like the look and also it's function.

Anyways...so the reason I posted in this forum is because I was wondering if I should attempt to remove the tint myself or pay some chump to do it. I heard Windex could strip tint because of the ammonia?? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Lu-Dawg

PS. I snapped one last shot of my S2k with my phone before I remove the tint

I removed mine, it wasn't hard I used undiluted ammonia, sprayed it on and let it sit in the sun for a while. It pulled off pretty easy.

i thought it was consider a moving violation in CA to have the front windows tinted.

You can use goo-gone to clean up remaining sticky stuff off your windows.

My wife got a ticket from the CHP for that a month or so ago. It was like $140 if she had it removed and checked off or $210 if she didn't. It was in Central California.

Really? Could have sworn it was a $10 fix-it ticket... Though the last time I got one of these was four years ago.

Anyway, windex + blow dryer + hot sun will take the tint off.

Thanks for the responses guys

I called the local CHP office and they said that the fix it tickets are $10 each and it is not a moving violation for tinted windows. Boy was I glad to hear that!

I have until 9/16 to take care of this so I'm going to keep on cruising until the dead line. LOL.
