Default Can this be buffed out?

Check out my new addition to the S!

Going to try and pull it back into place carefully, the paint is not cracked or bubbled, so at least that went my way.

doesnt look like a buff job!
be careful, go slow and use a piece of wood to do the job. wood is softer than metal and is less likely to allow you to damage than something harder.
if you see the paint beginning to crack you are going too fast and a paint crack isnt something you can easily repair.
looks to me like your paint is o.k. at this point-
if there are light scratches that i cant see, you should be able to buff them out after you do the rebend.

wanabe the buff job question was a joke!!

well i attempted to fix it, i got it almost back to about 80% perfect when the paint began to crack underneath. Also the two little crease points, wont go away, and by mistake I put a giant outward ding on the lip. And there is a little line at the bottom, you can sort of see it in the 3 and 5 pictures, now being bent back into place its more pronounced. OH well, time to hit a body shop.

What happened, I was on an on ramp to the highway, I was going just a bit too fast for the KDW's to handle, and the rear went out on me, and I hit the grass.

If the car would of been at normal ride height I probably would of been fine. You have to pay to play.

feelin your pain, and
yup- thats a body shop fix!!

were you using a wooden tool to push it out? i have had luck (i am no body shop expert at all) in the past with small dings in areas that i could get to rubbing them out from the inside with small pieces of wood. and find that the plastic is sometimes easier to "push out".

by the way, the way i would look at that is that it was a pretty inexpensive lesson as to how your tires handle given the input (throttle and steering) that you gave them. once you lose the rear on our cars it can be bad news... (been there, done that!)- except that you learn where the "break point" for your tires is!!

I'm pretty low with good offsets and I worry about my tire contacting the fender all the time.

A PDR guy may be able to work that if he can get leverage somewhere.

Ubetit, the paint cracked, so its time for a body shop to handle it.

Im kicking myself right now, because I should of left it the way it was, and had a PDR guy or shop look at it before messing with it. Chances are they could of fixed it without touching the paint.

Just my luck.

Funny thing is when I lost it I wasnt even concerned about getting hurt, I just did not want a cop to see me and give me a ticket.
