Hi guys, I ceramic coated my car last year using Avalon King, I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for on going cleaning to get the best out of the finish please.

I have a ceramic coated car. For maintenance, these are my steps:

I have carpro uk 3.0

1)rinse with pressure washer

2)carpro iron snow foam (for decontamination as well) with foam cannon

3)rinse then contact wash with same soap in 2 bucket method. Most important part is to make sure whatever sponges you use, make sure they are clean and without any dirt or debris to avoid scratches.

4)rinse after contact wash. Dry using drying towel. Then second pass with a air blower

5)use carpro reload to help existing coating

I like using the same brand of the coating I use to help maintain it. If you used Avalon, check to see if they have a “coating topper” or what they recommend to maintain with their product.

Wow.

I never use a pressure washer on a car if I want to keep anything that came with car. I have a motor washer of 3000 psi. No freakin can you use that on a car.

After a ceramic coating, application of polymer coating (waxes but not really) topped of with, what I like because it makes the color really pop, is carnauba wax. Every year of so, you can strip the wax and reapply nano/ceramic coating.

I always wash by hand with a bucket and a gravel guard on the bottom. Fresh micro fiber towels.

 

Interesting, curious as to why not 1st pass air blower and then dry any remaining water with the drying towel?

 

because you can get most of the water off with a good drying towel. Then get the water from the areas like inside side mirrors and any other areas the towel can’t fit.

 

I need to edit what I wrote above. I incorrectly stated applying a polymer after the ceramic. I have been applying a polymer and then the carnauba and it has worked well for me for many years. Just over a week ago I appleid Avon King for the first time. I followed the directions and watched the video. I washed, clayed, wiped with alcohol and then ceramic. It looks beautiful and the water really does bead off.

I get it now with a power washer not too close and wiping it down is a fast way to wash. Pics are after the application. I let it sit for a few days in my garage to let it harden before driving.
