Default Clay bar..

So ive heard that using automotive clay really cleans up a cars paint, and ive watched the process alittle bit but its been awhile and i wanted to do it on my S. I dont really no anything about the procedures to do it correctly. I was told to buff the car after doing this. Is it nessesary? Basically any shared knowledge on this is appreciated.

i was told to polish after clay and then apply wax by preference but never buffing in swirls like how you apply wax. That's what I heard.

Try reading the detailing how-to stickies, very helpful information.

Claying your car is very easy, just make sure to use lots of quick detailer as a lubricant and make sure to remold the clay as it gets dirty. Never drop it on the floor!

Some people like to wash the car after you clay, but it is not necessary.

Claying will make your paint a much smoother surface, it does this by removing pollutants, embedded dirt, bug guts, overspray etc..

It will not remove scratches or does it have ANY paint defect repair.

It's a good idea to do this every one and a while so that your not trapping this stuff in when you seal/wax your car

It's not mandatory, but highly recommended.. also does wonders for glass/plastic

i've got to agree with everybody above. it's a simple process. wash car, claybar, then polish/wax. i've been using mothers for a while with excellent results. after every panel, refold the clay..don't drop it, and keep applying the spray lubricant/detailer to the surface.

There's no need to refold on each panel, unless it gets dirty.

check it periodically and make sure there aren't any bits stuck in it that would scratch your car. If so pull them out by hand
