Default Cleaner recommendations for windows trimseals

What do you recommend or use? I just got my pre-owned S and the only signs that it isn't new is the faded trim around the windows. What is the best thing to try and restore the nice black and also protect it for the future?

If you're talking about the actual rubber that the windows and the convertible roof seal against, then Honda recommends using Shin-Etsu brand silicone grease. You can obtain this for about $12 from site sponsor HandA. http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000maint.html This stuff works great on all your weather-strip sealing rubber: doors, windows, trunk, hood, I even rub it on my CV joint boots. I clean up the seals as best I can with a water-logged towel or an old sock. Then I use an old sock as a glove to apply the Shin-Etsu. You need to be careful, because the weather-strip rubber can rip relatively easily.

If you're talking about the roof fabric or other interior plastic then I've found that Lexol Vinylex (blue bottle) is effective to restore the original black luster. Because the spray bottle this comes in doesn't have a very controllable nozzle, you need to spray Vinlex on a rag and then rub it on the surfaces you're protecting.

I also like the Stoner Trim Shine.

Sorry to be so vague. I'm actually talking about the weather stripping unit that runs along the top of the doors.
