Default Cleaning floor mats

How do you clean the factory floor mats? I am planning to get a second set so that there will always be a clean set in the car.

You can get carpet and upholstery cleaner...most car shop type places should have them. Or what one of my friends once did was spray simple green on 'em and then sprayed them with a pressure cleaner.

I also like simple green and a soft brush, BUT seal them with "303 hi tech fabric guard" when they're new. You'll never regret it. IMHO 100xs better than Scotchgard!

If your mats are soiled with dirt, pop, chips, ketchup, coffee etc.... You need to slap yourself upside the head.

Anyway, I have always taken my mats to a car wash, the ones with the wand. Tack them up on the wall, and use the high pressure water w/soap to clean them. Then rinse, let hang dry for a day in the sun.

I have not used this method on the s2k mats, because mine do not get dirty. I have plastic on top, with an ugly grey rubber mat ontop of that. I also wear snoopy slippers when driving the stook... Keeps the mats good as new!

Either way, sooner or later your gonna get pulled over and asked to step out of the car. THAT I'd love to see!

He He..... They first Snoppy pictures are very similar to mine. Who doesn't like Snoopy? Anyway, keep this in mind when keeping your mats clean.

Thought about that already. I thought I would buy a comfortable pair of slippers for my passenger (wife). There is no room in the car to put her shoes though.
