Default Cleaning tail pipes

Anyone have some ideas on easily cleaning the exterior of the twin tail pipes back to their chrome condition? I have heard people use chamios strips wrapped around but this seems difficult. Any ideas?

I use Never Dull. It's a product for cleaning stainless steel railings on boats. Just wipe it over the pipes and PRESTO! It takes off all the carbon and greese leaving them spotless!
I can't imagine using anything else!

I use Turtle Wax chrome cleaner with an old t-shirt and clean them off good. Then I put a coat of wax on there to keep them cleaner longer.

Thanks MyBad. Can you get this Never Dull stuff at a auto parts place or do you have to go to boats sales place? Internet sales? Any similar product sold in auto parts place? Any long term effects with Never Dull? How often do you clean the pipes?
Thanks again.

Another product great for cleaning the exhaust tips is luster lace. You just rub the stuff on and wipe off with a towel.

Never Dull is King 'o the Hill.

I use windex with a soft cloth, then Never Dull to finish it off.

I used to be in the Navy, and it has been used by the military for decades to clean and shine brass and chrome.

When you open it, it just looks like dried cotton, but wait 'till you see the results...

Please don't add to the list of people who have cut themselves on the inner pipe while polishing the outer chrome one. There's some rather sharp edges in there.

It's easier to clean if you don't let the carbon build up. If you do like I did ( ), I have to use drastic measures. Clean the tip with Windex, then use the NEVR-DULL on what didn't come off. With me, I still have some black residue on the underside and center of the tip end. This, I "wet sand". I soak 1000 grit we sand paper in water and keeping the carbon area wet constantly, I wet sand till it all comes off. Don't rub hard and take your time.

I recently purchased a S2000, and am new to the site. I'm impressed with all the info available. As a boat owner, I have great results with a product called Woody Wax. It's not cheap, but one can will last the life of your car. Use it very sparingly.
