Default Cleaning the underside of the soft top?

I'm convinced the underside of the soft top is making my car smell. I've vacuumed it, but what is a safe surfactant to use to clean it? It seems pretty dirty. Thanks!

Is there a mildew odor that you smell. Mildew cleaner may work and should clean the underside of the top. Never had this problem with 2 S2K's so I am not sure what to recommend.

Hmm maybe some convertible/vinyl cleaner, spray directly onto a microfiber cloth and work it on the underside?

I used Raggtop Protectant and it seems to do the trick. Maybe use 303 or Raggtop to clean it first and then protect it. I had my top down for 30 mins the other day and the small portion that is exposed got dirty/sun damage.

What kind of smell are you talking about? Maybe check your rain rails to make sure there is nothing caught in it. I just changed out my soft top w/ frame and found some Oakleys and a hair pick. It was in the rain rail.

Thanks for the tips, I will clean my top anyway, but I did smell a little closer and I think it might actually be my seats. I cleaned it again, so hopefully it'll be better tomorrow. Maybe I should leave it out in the sun for an hour and see if it kills any germs or whatnot.

No lie! I have two other member that helped me with the install that can vouch for that haha.

I guess what happened is, somethin was left on the softtop and when it was folded back, those items ended up in the rain rail.

Got my Oakleys, no hair pick =P

Ok I think it's my seats - is it possible to clean UNDER the leather of the seats? It doesn't kill me, but it is not pleasant. It goes away after a while but I rather not be greeted with it every time I drive the car.
