Default Clear Bra Protection?

Anybody have the clear bra on the front of thier car? How do you wax it, (do you just over it). How long is it supposed to hold up? Does it hurt the paint underneath? And finally, How much does it cost$$$

I work for BMW and most of the car has it. I saw for an M3 totally of $499.00 for the front end area.

- No It doesn't hurt the paint
- Yes it holds up for a long time

Has anyone thought of clear bra'ing your hardtop?
Is that overkill?
Has anyone done it?

I just purchased my HT recently and I just want to keep the flawless finish (don't all wash & wax wackos!) that it came with!

I think you can do a Whole car if you wanted too, but It's just a matter of How MUCH$$$$$$.

Would anyone do it if they had a full carbon fiber front bumper? Do you think I would really help, considering The CF is not painted?

I can't imagine that you would need a clear bra for your hard top. The front end of your car is best served by a clear bra because it is constantly bombarded by debris. The top doesn't get hit by anywhere near as much debris.

The thing is, clear bra doesn't look as nice as the paint finish... And it might be cheaper to get a complete respray... At least it would look better

The resin that holds the CF together WILL also chip and possibly crack since it's pretty brittle. I think clear bra on that would be a good investment.

It's true that the clear bra will probably be more expensive than to just respray.

This is true.... the clear bra material (3M Clearshield) has a very pronounced "orange peel" texture that's not as reflective as paint. So... I would say that you wouldn't want to cover parts with it unless you had to. The hardtop will actually look worse if you cover it with this material.

Besides, I think it comes in a maximum width of 24", so you'd have several seams on the top.
