Combination of Questions/ comments
Ok guys, I'm sorry about the ADD topic, but It's just a combination of things I have been reading on this forum, and I don't even have my car yet, but I'm getting anxious.
1: I'm read the how-to guides and such for washing/drying/clay/polishing/cleaner waxing/waxing, and here's the products I think I'm going to buy. Do you have any comments about products that might work better in combination with each other?
Wash: Meguiars Gold Class
Clay: Mother's Clay Bar Kit
(don't know what this would classify in): Zymol HD Cleanse
Polish: The Edge 2000 DA Kit (http://www.spam.net/foam-polishing-kit.html)
Polish: Undetermined as of now. Looking for recommendatins
Cleaner wax(Already have it) Zymol Cleaner wax:
Carnuba wax: P21S
How often should I wax my car?
Should I just do carnuba wax? or the cleaner wax and then the carnuba wax?
How many washes have people been getting out of a bottle of Gold Class?
Do two-three coats of P21S really look that much better than just one?
I heard that you Pinsol is better than Armor-all for your Leather dashes. Any one else heard this?
What do you guys think about that? Anyone have recommendations on where to buy the products at? (Besides Autogeek.com for the Edge 2000 Kit.
2: I own a AIR powered DA. Would I be able to use this instead of a PC one? I can adjust RPM's and such still, and it comes with a 6.5 inch pad already, which is the same size as the Edge Kit ones.
Thanks guys. Any Input/comments are welcome. Just recently found out about S2000's and decided to buy one... I plan on keeping this car forever, and I'm only 19. Looked for up to 300 miles around to find a nice one in good shape and found a 2002 with 10,000 miles because the guy traveled all over and didn't get much of a chance to drive it. I know some of my questions probably repeat in the forum, but I've been reading multiple pages from this forum, and people have had mixed opinions, so I'm just trying to get everything together before I place my order. I'm looking to spend between $400-$500 on cleaners ect.
Thanks for Everything guys. You are amazing.

Has anyone compared the Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay Special kit (http://www. autogeek .net/piulpoclplsp.html) vs the Mothers California Gold kit )http://www. autogeek .net/motcalgolcla.html)? I'm considering one or the other.
is your new car an S2000?
The mothers clay kit is fine. The dash is not leather. As far as the meguiars soap, dont know how many washes you get out of it, depends on how much you use I guess. I do use it myself. Autogeek seems to be a good place to buy the edge pads. Are you getting a PC or do you have one? Polish I'm not sure about, but you could try Pinnacle. @coats of p21s is good, but 1 coat will work, and use it after the cleaner wax, or it will remove it.
other websites that sell detailing supplies I know of
www.autopia-carcare.com
www.autobarn.net
www.chemicalguys.com
www.properautocare.com
www.bettercarcare.com
good luck and keep us updated

I use claymagic cause it's JDM =p... $10 at most automotive stores, which is good cause I usually end up dropping clay on the ground at least once during the claying session. Just toss and grab a new bar.
Also, who cares how many washes per bottle of Gold Class... you can buy the huge gallon size for like $10 at target. It doesn't get much cheaper than that... unless you go with simonz or some other cheap brand =p.
Also, for the dash and all other vinyl/rubber... 303 Aerospace protectant. The only exception is for the rubber for the top... I use shin-etsu for that.

Well, I think Im still gunna go with the Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay, and anyone have a recommendation for a Polish?
I'm looking at using SFX-1,2, and 3. But they say I don't need a cleaner wax. So I'll skip the Zymol cleaner Wax I have.
When should I use the Zymol HD Cleanse?

Pad/Chemical combos from forum sticky:
http://dano.pocketrubbish.com/detail...oductchart.htm
There's tons of info in the stickies at the top of the forum if you haven't already looked there.
Also, the XMT, Optimum, and Poorboys polishes seem to be the most popular choices? I've only used Poorboys so can't give you comparisons, but a bunch of other guys on here have given most a try.

So, The only questions I have left are,
1: When should I use the Zymol HD Cleanse?
2: Will an Air Powered DA work just as good as a PC?
Thanks guys. You are an Amazing help. Went and picked my car up tonight, and its pure sex. It has some paint peeling around the edge of the door, and a few scratches in the trunk lid, but nothing un-managable. I'll post pic's of my car through the entire process, which will most likely take place thursday-idk when. I still have to order everything except for the clay, and wash.

2. An air powered D/A will work, but I don't have any experience with one. So, I couldn't tell you the differences or pitfalls. If you can adjust the speed and it has a velcro backing plate so that you can use different types of pads than it's probably OK.
If you're car has peeling paint though I would save some money on the detailing supplies and go to a body shop instead.
I decided not to try my DA, (My dad used to do body work since he was 14 until he was about 30, which he stopped back in the 80's, and he said its not a good idea). SO, I'm looking at the UDM kits, but it says they are out of stock, but coming soon. Anyone have details on it? What all the kit includes?
Here's my order sofar
Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash
Mothers Clay kit
Sonus SFX-1
Sonus SFX-2
Sonus SFX-3
P21S (Two Coats)
Using a UDM when it comes out with the kit (Anyone know when?)
Would I still need to use the Zymol HD Cleanse? or would that be unnessicary?

Here's my process:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Wash
4. Dry
5. Polish
6. Synthetic Sealant
7. Top off with a Carnauba Wax
1. Gold Class will be fine for the shampoo
2. Mother's is fine for the Clay
5. Polish:
Sonus, Blackfire, Poorboys, Duragloss, and Menzerna are very very good starters for polishing
6. Synthetic Sealant :
Jeffs Werkstatt, Blackfire, Duragloss, Klasse are very very good starters for Sealing
7. Carnauba for added protection, depth and wetness:
Collinite #845, P21S, S100, Pinnacle, are also very good, especially the Collinite.
