If your top is a cloth type materail you do not want to use a product like AA which contains silicone on the cloth.

Kevin, this is gross mis-information!
Unfortunately, this is another example of a possible "NON-owner" giving advice about a car that he doesn't actually have first hand knowledge about. Luckily, we have enough informed "owners" on this board who keep track of stuff like this so new owners don't get led down the wrong path and do their car great harm.

Actually if you look at the www.raggtopp.com website it states that the Raggtopp protectant CAN be used on vinyl tops, see below a quote from said website:

"RAGGTOPP Protectant was especially developed for the true convertible top professional and enthusiast to protect and maintain their fabric, vinyl soft tops and plastic windows from harmful elements"

If you are using the 303 to protect the top, I would use for a cloth top the 303 Fabric Guard and if the top is vinyl I would use the 303 Aerospace protectant.

BTW, in my lifetime I have detailed thousands of cars, you don't have to own a particular kind of car to know something about it.
But you thought the S2000 had a fabric top and advised accordingly. Your thousands of detailed cars obviously did NOT tell you enough about this car. As stated by "boiler", some of those who used what you originally stated (previous to your post) have had potentially damaging effects.

As with boiler, I will not continue this either.
"AngrySalamander", you read all the posts here and you must decide what to believe - whether it be from "owners" who have first hand experience or from someone who gives info off a web site. The choice is yours.

Kevin, several owners HAVE used Raggtopp and have had stains on their vinyl tops as a result.

I am not going to tell someone to do anything, unless I have done/tried this myself or have knowledge of another credible (someone that I know) person trying it first. If this has been tried AND it worked, then and only then, will I recommend it to anyone else.

I have no axe to grind, nor am I selling anything. I do have a problem with causing anyone else problems, good intentioned or not.

I'm going to get of of my soap box now. This was not meant to be a start of a flame war.

Bob
I am not looking to argue either and of course I would not have had any knowledge of prior users having trouble with Raggtopp or 303. I do not make Raggtopp, so I would advise those who had trouble to contact the Raggtopp people and see what could be wrong. I have put Raggtopp, 303, and Haartz on many different kind of materials, tops, clothes, tents, etc. and the Raggtopp protectant always dries clear kinda like Scotchguard for outside.

Wait!! You can't sign off so soon. I want to listen to the owners who have owned their cars for a long time. My baby is still young (2 months), but it's in the sun a lot and I don't want the top to get damaged. I do wash the car often and I make sure bird crap and tree sap doesn't stay long...but my main concern is the UV damage. I've heard from friends that I don't want to use car wash soap, but you guys have used it for a while and it's cool right? I use Turtle Wax brand car wash soap. Is that ok?
