detail shop
anyone know a good detailer in the bay area?
my paint is swirled to all hell. bought it used..oh well, gues i'm gonna pay now.
using off the shelf stuff has worked to some extent, but they're still there, and they look horrible. i know i can take care of the finish once it's clean 'n smooth. i don't want to spend too much $$, but i understand that the more $$ the better the job...

You may want to purchase this product and remove the swirls yourself.

Because they're random orbital, it's not like a regular electric polisher where you have to be worried that the high rpm's are going to eat up your paint by creating too much heat in a certain spot. In fact, if you wax by hand you may inadvertantly concentrate too much pressure through your fingertips to one area and damage your car's finish. This is far less likely with a random orbit polisher because the pressure is evenly spread out over a 6-inch diameter pad and it is randomly orbiting.
It's kind of like saying machines can't paint a car as well as a person. Well, maybe if you find THE world auto painting expert somewhere but, in general, the factory paint robots do a much better job than their human predecessors!
