Default Detailed someone's car today

So I started a mini-detailing thing as a side job to make some extra cash on the weekends. I already have 2 jobs.. but why not more pocket change?

Link to the newer(original) thread w/pics of a car I did today!

if you can do that for 45 bucks you may need to give up your other jobs!!!

I used to do it for extra money, I will start again next year for extra pocket money, or mods money. But anyhow, I used to charge like $10-15 less than the average detail shop. And I did made some good money doing it. I considered 2 mos. ago about buying a detailing trailer and start going around car dealer lots, and offices, where people are too busy working and don't have time to wash their cars.

Yeah, I think when I get "good" enough, and buy enough of the right products (i.e. PC+pads+p21s stuff) I will make more housecalls and maybe quit one of my jobs. The best place around here charges like $350 for a full detail.. so maybe around $100. I'm not trying to jip people.. or even make a shitload myself.. doing it for the love, and gas money .

(I've made $270 in the past three weeks off the $45 charge)

Just some input from a fellow college student detailer with two other jobs also...

Get the PC! I charge 150 for compact-midsize and 200 for full size-suv. I give 10% off to local s2katlanta members though. I find that I can fully detail a compact car in about 6 hours. The money is great and people usually tip you on top of it. Do a couple cars for cheap... maybe 100 like I did so you can get some awesome pictures going.

You may have seen this thread but here's a berlina that I detailed.

Once you get something like this done, people will want you to detail for them all the time!

Hey, thanks!

Yeah thing is.. with the 2 jobs and school, I don't have time to detail really anymore.. It's funny, I haven't washed my car in 3 weeks because on my days off from my other two jobs, I've been too busy detailing other's cars instead of mine!

But I hear you.. next summer I'm going to get a PC and charge between 100-150. Thing is.. I'm not trying to make a HUGE amount of extra cash.. because I look at it this way.. in 2 cars, I would have made my money back on the PC/pads/polish.

And the rest is proffit.. Not bad if you ask me.

But thanks so much for the input!
