Default Dirt patterns after waxing

When my car collects dirt after waxing, it always seems to have a pattern exactly like the direction in which I put the wax on. IS this normal, or does it mean that I'm not removing the wax well enough?

That's interesting. I never noticed that when I used carnuba wax. Maybe you should switch to Zaino?

I'm already using Zaino...anyone else have this problem? It's odd, because when I look at it when it's clean, the car has a great shine but once it starts getting dirty, it shows up in the vertical pattern (Zaino recommendation).

Sounds to me like the Zaino is not drying before you take it off. Use the finger test in the sun to determine if it's dry yet or not. If you see any smearing at all, let it sit longer.

I'm pretty sure it's drying fully, because I do the finger test too. I usually let it sit for about an hour, and I figure that with the 90+ degree heat, it's sufficient for it to dry.

I always let mine dry overnight. Unlike wax Zaino will wipe off easily when still not dry. If the humidity is high 1 hour may not be long enough.

But how come when it's clean, the shine looks perfect?

Yes, it's supposed to have anti-static properties that repels dirt and dust.
