Default Do I need to protect a brand new soft top?

I just got a brand new soft top. Does it have some sort of protection from the factory? Do I need to use a product like Raggtop right away? Thanks in advance for advice.

Jump right on the protectant. No reason to wait.

Vinylex, 303 or Raggtop are good brands. You can find Vinylex in auto stores. One shop by me stocks the 303 so you may have to go hunting. Raggtop I've only seen online.

i assume that you are asking "how to"...

wash the top and the rest of the car- a good car shampoo is fine for both. dry as usual.
then, soak a rag (with 303, or vinylex, or raggtopp) away from the car...
rub down the top, reapplying 303/ vinylex/ raggtopp to the rag every once in a while- you want lots of product on the rag.
after the top is covered, leave it while you work on the rest of the car.
then come back to the top and take a clean dry rag and buff out the top. i do this twice (two clean rags).
i want to get all product rubbed in and no excess (so that it doesnt run down on the car in rain).
and that should do it!
