Default Double checking before I mess up my car

Hi everyone, I just purchased my S2000 about a month ago and I'm loving it so I want to keep it as clean as possible. I've spent some time researching about products and watched numerous videos on methods, and i just want ask a few questions to double check before I do anything that could possibly be bad for my car. I recently purchased a PC 7424 from a member on here for a pretty good price, so i picked it up and i don't regret it because even if I buy everything seperate, I believe its still cheaper than the Kits available. Now I just want to fully understand about the products and methods, so here is what I plan to do with my car (please let me know if I need to change anything):
-Rinse and wash car with Meguairs's Gold Class car wash and dry with Uber Jumbo Waffle Weave Drying Towel:Uber Waffle Weave

-Use Mother's Clay Bar Kit to clay the whole car (or should I use Meguiar's? or does it even matter?)

-Now here are my questions, I was debating on which kit from detailers domain should I get and use?

The Complete Menzerna 16 oz Kit
OR
The Uber Menzerna PO203/PO85RD Polishing Combo Kit

On The complete Menzerna 16oz kit, I'm guessing its used from the start of the polishing and to the end of the waxing. My car has a few chips, light scratches and some swirls, so will I be needing to use all 4 of the products in the kit or do I need even more than this kit?
OR
Should I use the Uber Menzerna Polishing Combo Kit? The products in this kit comes in a quart(32oz), is that more than I need? I'm guessing this kit is only the polishing part so should i buy this kit and buy another pad and wax to do the waxing step?
So ya, what do you think is best for me? Merzerna 16 oz kit or the Polish Combo Kit + Wax? I'm not rich at the moment because I have school and books to pay for very soon, so I'm trying to do whats best for the money at a reasonable price.

Also, my friend told me to spray some mixture of alcohol and water onto the pads before applying the polish. Can I do that or should I spray some kind of product onto it like some of the videos Ive seen?

Please let me know what I should to do and what not to do. I'm looking forward on detailing my car and hopefully earning a badge on here. Thanks for your time!

welcome to the car and the board!

1. if you really will use all of the products in the kit go for it. i usually do not get kits cause they often have something i dont need.

let me see if i can get phil to comment on the kits also- and dont forget our discount codes !!

2. several choices with pad sprays- i usually use a pad spray (yes, you can buy them), but have also used detailing sprays that do not contain waxes or synthetics.

we look forward to helping you earn that badge- post back any more questions!

do you think I'll need all the products that are included in the 16oz Kit?

Very difficult to answer that without seeing the car, so we can assess what kind of defects you need to correct.
