Dust off?
Folks,
I've never used a car "duster" before, but may just have to try it with all of these positive responses. How about Meguiar's "Quik-detailer" That seems to work well providing you have a soft cloth. Doesn't seem to scratch the paint on my black 4Runner. Any comments..suggestions?

Another vote for California Duster. However, I agree that, on too warm a surface, it can leave smudges. They can be wiped off with a cotton towel. I've got mine sitting on a newspaper again for a while to see if that helps. If the car is very warm, I believe that it helps if you keep the duster in constant motion. Don't allow it to just sit still on the car, even for a second. Keep in mind that it is for removing only dust. It is not a substitute for washing a dirty car. Having said that, I will say that it does an absolutely great job. We had an unbelievable amount of pollen this past spring, and the duster was perfect for cleaning it off the car. Clean as a whistle in 2 or 3 minutes. I know that some folks are concerned about scratching, but I have not seen any signs of damage to my Zaino finish from using it. The first time you use the thing, you will be amazed - particularly if you are in a light such that you can really see the dust on the car. It really works.
XVIPER,
You are in Calgary. How does the California Duster work with our gritty, sandy dust that we have blowing around here. It almost seems too goot to be true that the duster can remove such particles without ruining the finish of the paint somewhat. Sorry for the skepticism folks!

Thanks for the advice. They're wrapped in newspaper. Will try tomorrow. By the way these were brand new, just out of package. Should be a good test. I've loosely wrapped each in 2 layers of newpaper without color print (don't know if that would have hurt...), then placed slight weight on top to compress slightly. I originally had the smaller one wrapped with the handle, then took the mop off and rewrapped. Alot of "wax" on the paper already...
