Default easiest way to get rid of adhesive?

So Im trying to get this thin film of adhesive left from the tape on my windshield, and I tried this 3d adhesive cleaner (not the type everyone else uses, in a can) and goo gone, and Im trying to get the stuff off but it wont come off at all unless I scratch it off or rub it really hard, but even then by the time I get a small amount off the cleaner is already dries up and at that point Im just rubbing it with no kind of cleaner.

If anyone has tips on how to get this stuff off, or should I try and order some of the 3m adhesive spray remover?

try soaking it with wd-40... let it sit for a coupla minutes to make sure its really soaked.
try not to get the wd-40 on the rest of the car, and wipe it off if it does get there. be sure to clean up after and rewax the effected areas.

if that doesnt get it you might try clay, but it will ruin the clay that you use for this- throw it away afterwards. clay requires a lubricant (usually a detailers spray or car shampoo)... i have used wd-40 with clay before, but sometimes the clay falls apart before i can finish the task (prob cause i use old clay when i am planning to trash it after using). i tear off small pieces of clay when i use it for adhesives. and take it slow and in small areas. will take extra lubricant and again be careful about getting wd-40 on other car parts (it is good at removing any emblems or stickers!)

nope, it would be fine... works best on light glues.

since he was having probs removing, i was giving a more aggressive approach- but nothing wrong with alcohol to remove glue.

Thanks, I have a WD-40 pen here I can try.

After I let it soak, what would be the best way and try and rub it off? A T shirt?

Use a razor blade to get off the bulk of it, then goo gone will take the residue off.

I usually use a razor blade, WD-40, or lighter fluid(Naptha). One of those should do the job. I use a paper towel to wipe the WD-40 or lighter fluid and toss it when I finish. That way I don't have to try to wash it.

We're talking about glass here, not paint.
