Default Emblem ghost.

I removed my side emblems about a mont ago and since it's a 8 year old car, there is a ghost of the emblem on the paint.

Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Will It fade out over time?

It doesn't look too bad. The only way you can see it is if you look at a angle but I know it's there and it bothers me. Ugh.

I love the clean look but I'm considering just buying a new set of badges and painting them white (which means I would have to do the H's white too).

My car is a Suzuka if that matters.
Any help os greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

try rubbing it with gasoline. it doesn't harm the paint. just make sure you rub it quick because it dries up really fast

I disagree, and think you should buy a new side emblem.
(Personal taste: I like the emblems there.)

Hi,

Paint can fade over time and this is probably what you are noticing. Buffing the panels in question may restore the color. If it does not, you may want to use another emblem.

Good luck.

nothing is going to help, it will fade but will take time. The sun is relentles and this is just normal fade and since those emblems have been shading that part of the paint it is not faded there. My car says INDYCAR.COM on the front bumper due to fade

Gasoline does harm the paint.
Newer vehicles have polyurethane and are impervious to gasoline. The worse it can do is ruin the car's wax

When I bought the car, it had a huge XM receiver on the truck. I finally took it off, and it was extremely noticeable (more than just a ghost) I buffed it out for quite a while till I was happy with it. Now you have to know where to look and look at it a certain way to see it, so I'd suggest that.
