Engine cleaning
Ive cleaned my engine before and the stuff I used was always pretty good. I dont know the name of it, but I believe its just the heavy duty degreaser made by Ardex. My problem is that the first time I used it, it took the Comptech sticker right off my STB. I want to find something less harsh. My engine bay has white specks all over from the body shop. I tried car soap and a brush, but it didnt work. I know the spots come off because if I rub one with my finger hard enough it goes away. Any suggestions?
be careful-
a citrus based or non-acid based one is best, imo.
with any cleaner you have to be careful not to loosen stickers-
i usually do those separately... do around them with the engine clean and then go back with some diluted cleaner on a rag for the stickers- try not to get much under the sticker, and dry it well.
