Engine cleaning?
I was recently on a trip out of town and my 05 pathfinder looks pretty dirty under the hood. I am not sure whether I can spray down this engine or not? I have done it on others, but not this one yet. I usually never get to this point because I keep the engine well clean and detailed. Any opinions?
Thanks,
Jon

its not likely that it has a distributor or other exposed electrical-
but thats the main thing you need to check for on a modern car (exposed electrical)- o.k. to wash it as long as its not hot and you dont blast it - and dont spray the electrical parts...
i dont know that car, but would not worry too much.
just make sure you start it as your normally do after you wash and dry it. (i like a leaf blower for drying engine compartments- but again dont blow too much near electrical parts). i blow out the "big water" then hit it with a towel and finally start it up. i usually drive it down the block and back (not far) then finish the engine detailing (dont drive too far cause you dont want it hot, just warm).
