Post First time waxing!

Yes it's true. I've never waxed a car before. None of my previous cars were ever nice enough to put the effort out for. When i first got my S late last summer the previous owner had just waxed it prior to selling it, then the winter came and today was beautiful and 60 degrees so I figured i'd give it a shot. I usually just wash my car at work but figured because i was gonna go to town on it I might as well just do it at home. I don't know too much about detailing so i tried to do some research first...but quickly got bored and went to buy stuff. So i took off down to Shucks to get the supplies. I ended up getting the Turtle wax ICE brand. Mainly cuz it's the turtle wax name and and had a flashy label ...what can I say, i'm easy. I got the regular soap to wash with (which smells really good! I may just wash myself with it later ...TMI sorry!) the ICE liquid clay bar, and synthetic paste polish.

I started out going around and washing it twice, then went around with the liquid clay bar (which was actually very easy) dried the car and took a lunch break. then went back out and waxed her up. Also was very easy to do though my car has never seemed so big before. lol. waxed it all wiped dry, then waxed it up again. all in all i'm pretty happy with how it turned out. especially being my first time doing it. If you all think i'm worthy of a badge thank you, advise is gladly accepted too.

thanks for reading.

hey, nice goin!!

in fact, nice enough to earn you a wacko badge- if you agree, pm me and i will hook one up for you.
thats the way that we all started... it all starts with a wash. then a wax. then noticing some swirls and wanting to remove them. then washing isnt good enough and the seats gotta come out and the wheels gotta come off... o.k. dont want to scare you away !!

shoulda posted this before...
another tip:

clean the inside glass one direction, say side to side
and clean the outside glass the other direction, say up and down.

then when you see areas that you missed, you can tell whether they are on the inside or outside!

Welcome to what I've found to be the most knowledgeable subsection on s2ki.com.

Don't let us scare you off But you'll be obsessing over it soon enough. My S2000 spent the week in the garage, and I still found little minor things to do to it, things that were bugging me. Trace amounts of polish in the badges, in the little doors for the tow hook in the bumpers, that kind of stuff. And of course wiping the interior down with Einszett Cockpit Premium.

We have a really really good sponsor here. Phil, who owns Detailer's Domain, is a great guy and gives us good deals on quality stuff. Check him out.

Wanabe, that window cleaning tip is brilliant.
