Default Formula 1 Professional Scratch Out Product

I've read in the FAQs about using this Scratch Out product for the rear plastic window. Has anyone else used it? If so, what did you use to apply and remove it?

I pretty much stick with Plexus from week to week, but there are still several scratches that I cannot remove (even with the Meguiar's and 3M products). I have ordered the roof well mat and the window protector tube from Muz to reduce future scratching (which I hope will help).

Thanks!

I am going to give this stuff a shot this weekend - I will post the results. The results sited on the FAQ post seem to be very positive.

Hehe...that was me who "made" that FAQ... I'de recommend it if you have TRIED using all other means to remove the fine scratches (plexus, etc...)

It does work, but follow up with Plexus or some other protectant (3m, etc).

On a side note, Scratch out is WHITE, and if you get it on your vinal top, its seriously hard to get out...be veeery careful when you do this.

I did in fact apply the Scratch Out product this weekend. The results were not quite what I had hoped. While Scratch Out did nothing to further damage the rear window, it certainly did not remove any of the existing scratches. It is acceptable for removing the standard hazing, but certainly no better than Plexus.

Sorry to hear that... you may want to try some of the 3m products.

It was worth the try Aaron - thanks! I have tried the 3M and Meguiar's products as well with no luck. I just wish I would have purchased Muz's well mat and window protector tube sooner.

Have you tried doing both sides of the window? Perhaps the scratchs are on the other side and only appear to be on the side you are working on?

Just a thought,
Aaron

Aaron -

Yes, unfortunately. The scratches are definitely on the inside only.

Hi pittpanther,

I have studied the closing of my top and am sure most of the damage is caused when the plastic window slides against the roof well area, which can get full of dust.
I wonder where you found the roof well mat? Is it cut to fit the S2K?
I have tried the tube but have had problems with it bending and causing the plastic window to fold in a bad way so I quit using it.

I would appreciate the source for the well may so I can get one.

Thanks
