Default Front Nose Bra question

Hey everyone, I have a question about front bra's

I have the J's Molded front bumper and I would like added protection during my trips to NC from NY, 700 miles each way. I have taken this trip with a stock front bumper and had 1 rock chip before I even got there one way. I know have an aftermarket painted front and hood and expect much more chips to happen easier.

Clear bras are not an option. I was wondering if the colgan front bra would work for what I had in mind. This colgan bra covers a good amount of the front end. I was thinking of not mounting the bottom or perhaps doing a little cutting neatly so that it would fit on the front end. I would then add some more material to where I made any cuts and sew it all up so its one piece. I will custom mount the bottom of the bra to the underside of the bumper to where I have the bolts.

This would be put on before I leave, once I get to NC it will be removed, then put on when I am ready to go and removed once I get home.

I only go to NC 1 time a year...lol....

It may look a little odd on the car but if it protects the paint I will be happy. This is a better solution than having to tow it with my truck.

Thanks
JP

It was my smart-ass way of suggesting you not buy a vinyl bra because they are pure cheese.

I know they are not my style and I do not like them, but I have to drive to NC and back every year and I have received 1 chip already on the S from the ride, and with my other car I have 7 chips in 1 drive .... I just paid $2000 for paint work on my S2000 and I do not want any chips in it because of the drive to NC....

My question is, no matter how ugly or stupid the bra may be, would it protect my front end and not harm my paint or have any negative reactions?

I'm not sure why a clear bra is out of the question, but since it is...

A vinyl bra will not harm your paint IF your car is clean when you put it on AND nothing gets under it. I shudder to think what a pebble or even coarse dust would do to your paint as the bra is moving around slightly at highway speeds.

just for your info, clear bra is out of question because it is not removable, and no one locally that is experienced want to do a custom shape. They said they would have to cut into the paint to get all the curves of the J's molded. I did not want any cutting done into the paint.

I do keep quite a few coats of Zaino on my car, and I see what you say about dust and pebbles.
