Getting Organized
Like most folks who become immersed in auto care, there's nothing like having a roll-away cabinet to keep your tools organized and close at hand as you work. You lose less time, lose fewer tools, and Lord knows they look impressive sitting there in the garage.
A few weeks back, having amassed a plethora of auto finish care supplies as I girded up to rejuvinate the not well cared for finish of Debbie's 'new to her' '04 S, I realized that a similar cabinet would be ideal for detailing as I tripped over chords to my Porter Cable and light stands practicing on the Suburban.
While perhaps a bit over the top for normal folks who aren't afflicted with obsessive compulsive behavior, I found the ideal cabinet on a visit to the local Home Depot.

It has proven to be the perfect "tool" for working on the S, in that it keeps everything I use close at hand as I work my way around the car. As an added bonus, by bolting a section of PVC to the side of the cabinet with some U-bolts, I was able to pull the tri-pod base off of my halogen work lights and mount it to the side of the cabinet, eliminating another obstacle & power cable from the work area.
If you're curious to know what I keep in it, I've stood up a Web page with a composite photo, some details, and links to larger images that you can find at this URL: http://www.TheTandemLink.com/S2000/detailing.html

On the bright side, this one will outlast me as it's about as robust as they come.
As for "in action", on the bright side most of the really hard work with it is behind me and I suspect there's very little clear coat left on the upper panels. Notwithstanding some future re-work of paint nicks in the hood of the S, I've just about gotten all of the other fixable finish flaws removed. The Zaino has been applied and it's looking pretty good, despite the rough year and lack of finish care from the previous owner.
I've got the same lighting stand! Its great when you pull into the garage and need the extra lighting when you're detailing the car. That roll cabinate is cool!
I jsut have an old Ikea closet module on wheels.
