Default Grit Guard?

just bought 2 grit guards from detailers domain and was wondering if anyone knows which bucket it'll fit in. Not sure if the grit guard from detailers domain is the same size as the others out there in the market, and by doing a search found that people were using the 5 gallon home depot orange bucket or the lowes grey bucket. Anyone using detailers domain grit guards please help me out, thanks.

Any regular 5 gallon pail works. I use HD buckets myself.

I would say 99% of the grit guards out there are the same.

Given that Grit Guard is a registered trademark and they only make one size, as far as I know, they should all be the same unless they are knock-offs, which would likely violate their patent, would be sell counterfeit goods and they could have their domain name seized.

They are 10 3/8" diameter is case anyone is wondering.

But back to the question at hand, I went to a local chinese restaurant and got some free buckets from them.

now i'll be planning to do the following:

1. pre-rinse
2. foam gun entire car
3. let foam settle for about a minute
4. rinse
5. foam entire car again
6. two bucket wash method with grit guards
7. final rinse
8. dry

please let me know if this is the proper way to go, TIA.

I have mine in a Home Depot orange 5 gallon bucket. Took a good stomp to get it seated in the bottom.

Sounds good. The usual, work in the shade. Dilute the car wash as directed.
For step 5, instead of foaming the whole car, I'd foam only a section or two, wash it, and then rinse it, and then move on.
For step 7, you can look into the sheeting method. It make drying a little easier.
For step 8, don't apply pressure when drying. You don't want to add swirl. Use an air compressor or leaf blower to blow water out of all the little crevices (e.g. head lights, mirrors, door handles, tail lights, emblems, fuel door [don't forget to wash in there too], around the doors and trunk, etc)

And don't forget to protect the top with something like 303 or RaggTopp.

I've learned about the 2-bucket double Grit-Guard, but has any one used more than one bucket for extra rinsing, as say a three-bucket double grit guards in each?
